Brendel Plonka, RDN
I am a registered dietitian nutritionist who has been asked a plethora of questions while working with with thousands of clients. I love translating what people hear "on the street" into information that they can use to make a decision about their lifestyle. I focus my practice on counselling, educating, and empowering my clients. In my writing, I aim to bring my practical experience as a registered dietitian nutritionist to the public.
After completing my undergraduate degree at Morgan State University in Baltimore, I completed my dietetic internship at Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center. I then completed my Master's degree at Kansas University Medical Center where I focused my attention on childhood obesity research. With the goal of providing excellent patient care, I earned advanced certifications in nutrition support and diabetes care. I have experience working in nutrition support, primary care nutrition, and obesity research. After working at Sinai Hospital in Baltimore and then Columbia University Medical Center in New York City, I am now back home in Baltimore, and I counsel patients in my practice, Brendel Plonka RDN.

I am a Registered Dietitian who is passionate about helping people confidently navigate the many food decisions they make each day. I like to use an intuitive eating approach, helping people develop a deeper understanding of how different foods make them feel—physically, mentally, and emotionally. I work with patients who have diabetes, obesity, and other metabolic concerns.
I received my B.S. in Nutrition and Dietetics from Queens College and completed my internship with Wellness Workdays. Originally from New York, I now live in Dallas with my family.
